Who we support.
The Trust supports a wide range of charitable causes, guided each year by our Trustees. Many of our grants are focused on helping vulnerable and disadvantaged people, communities, and environments. Our work spans areas such as the arts, education, protecting nature and addressing harmful practices, tackling homelessness, promoting international relations and peacebuilding, supporting migrants and refugees, prison reform, support to vulnerable young people and health and medical research including care and support for those who are terminally ill and their families, to name just a few.
From time to time, we also respond to international emergencies, with particular attention to crises that may be underfunded or overlooked.
While we don’t publish formal guidelines, our annual accounts filed with the Charity Commission offer a helpful overview of the types and range of causes we support. Many of the charities we work with receive funding for more than one year and we’re proud to have supported several of them over the long term.
